Marc-Antoine Boutin

Marc-Antoine Boutin is a musician, musicologist, music mediator and music consultant. Marc-Antoine is currently pursuing a PhD in sociomusicology (Université de Montréal and Sorbonne Université) with the support of SSHRC and FRQ-SC on the creative processes of music in contemporary circus. While his master's research targeted the work of composers, the thesis project expands the focus to include the work of the performers. At the Faculty of Music of the University of Montreal, he coordinates the international research team Partnership on Music Audiences ( Marc-Antoine worked as a trumpet player on the show Babel_Remix and the Minutes complètement cirque of the Montréal complètement cirque Festival in 2014. He is involved in the Quebec circus scene, notably as a member of En Piste since 2016 and as a music consultant for artists such as Simon Nadeau and the Foutoukours. In music mediation, Marc-Antoine designs activities of all kinds and for any profile of participants. He is a co-founder and a member of the MéMuQ, collective of the Music Mediators of Quebec.
