A Partnership that Will Ensure the Continuity of the Being Black in Canada Program until 2022

“The Being Black in Canada program of the Fabienne Colas Foundation, whose objective is to improve cultural diversity in the arts community, will be able to count on the financial support of Netflix Canada, in collaboration with National Bank, and with the support of the Canada Media Fund (CMF).

Born in Montreal, Being Black in Canada has expanded to several cities and allows young artists from diverse backgrounds to create a short film on a subject of their choice. The objective was to address the lack of diversity and representation of Black individuals in the cultural industry.”

Black artists represent the most marginalized and underserved group in the country’s artistic community , says Fabienne Colas, President and CEO of the Foundation that bears her name.”
