An Easing of Certain Measures in some Regions of Quebec

03 Feb 2021

New health measures will be in effect starting on the 8th of February 2021. Some regions of Quebec will move to the orange zone, while most will remain in the red zone. Please consult the Quebec government website to find out the alert level in effect in each of Quebec’s regions, and their respective relaxations.

Following a meeting with the Ministry of Culture and Communications, here are the specific measures for the performing arts:

IN ORANGE ZONE

Private leisure classes (one-on-one) will be permitted by following the health regulations in effect.

Performance venues will be able to reopen starting February 26. However, wearing a face covering or procedural mask will be mandatory at all times for staff and spectators. The programming schedule will also need to be adjusted to allow the public to comply with the 9:30 PM curfew. Furthermore, recordings with an audience are permitted in compliance with health measures.

Ticket offices will be able to open next week. Ticket purchasers seated side-by-side must belong to the same family bubble.

Cafés located in theaters will also be able to open, while respecting restaurant health standards as well as family bubbles.

Inter-regional travel is not encouraged, but is authorized for work. However, producers and presenters are strongly encouraged to ensure independent transportation for artists and to prioritize single-occupancy hotel room rentals. Furthermore, individuals visiting another zone remain subject to the directives in effect in their zone of origin.

With the exception of the above indications, please note that the CNESST health management standards guide prevails at all times.

ORANGE AND RED ZONES

Telework remains mandatory, unless presence is essential.

RED ZONE

All measures remain the same.
