Appointment of Nadia Drouin as Executive Director of En Piste

Montreal, September 25, 2023 — The Board of Directors of En Piste, the performing arts association, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nadia Drouin as Executive Director. She had already been contributing significantly to the organization as interim director since February 2023.

“We are delighted to welcome Nadia Drouin to lead the association at a strategic moment in its development,” says Tim Roberts, Chair of the Board of Directors of En Piste. “Her experience in various aspects of the sector makes her the ideal person to guide the organization through its next steps towards the future.”

Nadia Drouin has been with En Piste since 2021, first as project manager for Destination cirque, then as Director, Services and Community Relations. A graduate of the National Theatre School, Interpretation option (1991), she worked at CEAD and Espace GO theatre, and also joined the creative company Théâtre Pluriel before discovering the world of contemporary circus and street arts in Quebec.

From 2004 to 2018, she served as coordinator of professional services, then head of programming at TOHU. She is credited with the creation of the International Contemporary Circus Market (MICC) in 2015, within which she co-developed international cooperation projects, notably Autopistes and Circus Incubator. In 2018, she held the position of director of the CINARS biennial, marking another major step in her career. Her essential expertise in the dissemination of circus arts led her to join En Piste, where she brilliantly developed the Destination cirque program, dedicated to the circulation and promotion of circus in Quebec. Nearly forty presenters participate in it today.

Nadia Drouin is recognized for her dynamic leadership, exceptional organizational skills, effective communication abilities, attentiveness, and openness towards the circus community. Her experience and in-depth knowledge of the field are undeniably major assets that will enable her to propel En Piste to new heights.
