The D’Arts et de rêves artist residency in Sutton is launching its call for projects for residencies in 2021 and 2022.
After a year marked by a major renovation project of its main building and strict sanitary rules due to the pandemic, the organization will reopen its facilities this summer to welcome artists from the visual arts, literary arts, and contemporary circus arts fields. The call invites practitioners from these fields to submit their approaches and projects for residencies lasting two to six weeks. An independent jury composed of professionals from each discipline will select the projects and artists.
New this year, D’Arts et de rêves will offer grants as part of a competition open to all professional artists who wish to submit a three-week project and receive a fee of $1,500 in addition to free accommodation and studio rental fees. One grant per discipline will also be awarded by an independent jury.
D’Arts et de rêves welcomes a large proportion of Quebec and Canadian artists, as well as many creators from around the world. With its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the residency stands out for its bucolic environment, on a magnificent site in the village of Sutton. Artists in residence have the opportunity to be supported in the production of events to which the local population is invited. These cultural mediation activities are at the heart of D’Arts et de rêves’ mission, which aims in particular to promote the approach and works of artists who visit its site in Sutton for a residency.
Artists wishing to undertake a residency between July and December 2021 are invited to respond to the call for projects before March 31.
