Since March 13, 2020, the Interuniversity Research Centre on Quebec Literature and Culture (CRILCQ) has initiated a survey of cultural initiatives implemented by groups and individuals from Quebec in response to the COVID-19 crisis. To date, the project has identified 1,513 initiatives involving 6,014 individuals and 952 organizations or collectives.
They will organize a symposium on March 10, 11, 12, and 13, 2021, titled React, Create, Persevere: Quebec Cultural Initiatives in the Time of COVID-19. The study days aim to reflect on the initiatives undertaken during the COVID-19 crisis and to report on them through various theoretical and methodological perspectives. The program is organized around four themes: 1) Reacting to the Crisis; 2) Creating During the Crisis; 3) Staying Connected During the Pandemic; 4) Persevering (and Surviving).
The reflections conducted within these four themes will lead to a multimodal publication, allowing for a contextualization of the more or less lasting transformations caused in the cultural and literary field in Quebec by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Proposals for presentations, 200 to 300 words in length, accompanied by a 100-word bibliographic notice, are expected no later than December 15, 2020 at the following email address: Recensement.crilcq@gmail.com. They are open to all cultural forms and manifestations, from all communities and nations of Quebec.
Through this project, we will learn a great deal about the resilience and inventiveness of our artistic communities.
