Creation of the Circus Arts Committee at the Heart of the QUAC

Are you interested in contributing to the impact of circus within the Saint-Michel community?

The Quartier des arts du cirque (QUAC) is inviting circus artists and companies to take part in the creation of a new artistic committee, designed by and for the circus community.

The QUAC is a transformative place-based initiative in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood, positioning circus arts as a driver of cultural, ecological, and social innovation. Its goal is to foster an inclusive and collaborative district powered by creativity.

This call aims to gather the voices of circus artists and companies to collectively imagine the future of the territory and strengthen the presence of circus practices within the Saint-Michel neighbourhood.

Committee objectives

  • Build lasting ties between circus artists and the Saint-Michel community.
  • Mobilize artists and circus companies around the development of the QUAC.
  • Jointly explore opportunities for infrastructure (buildings and public spaces dedicated to circus), artistic programming, and circus-focused cultural mediation activities to be developed in the area.

Participation Details

  • The committee will hold a cycle of four meetings between December 2025 and May 2026, including the first consultation meeting on December 1.
  • Snacks will be provided at each meeting.
  • Registration is required to attend the first meeting by completing this short form: https://forms.gle/PXnBuBM4cxAc7qD99.

Led by Lysandre Murphy-Gauthier, artist, cultural mediator, and mobilization lead for the QUAC, this meeting will present ongoing projects in the QUAC territory and lay the groundwork for the future circus committee. Lysandre will be joined by QUAC representatives: Charles-Mathieu Brunelle, Executive Director, and Pascale Demers, Associate Director.
