Good news for circus artists, collectives, and companies! The Conseil des arts de Montréal, in partnership with La compagnie des autres and En Piste, the national association for circus arts, launched in November 2023 a call for applications for a new residency program in East Montreal.
CIRCUS TRAJECTORY OFFERS:
_ an artistic fee from a Council grant of $15,000;
_ 3 weeks of residency in the studios of La compagnie des autres;
_ 5 hours of support from La compagnie des autres for the acquisition
of fundraising skills for the project;
_ 20 hours of personalized support from En Piste for the development
of skills related to showcasing the artistic process;
_ a one-year membership with En Piste, if the laureate has never been
a member and subject to the criteria of the membership policy;
_ a public residency presentation, allowing for networking,
meetings, and exchanges.
THE PROGRAM AIMS TO:
_ foster research and exploration for the development of new forms in circus arts;
_ encourage authorial circus;
_ enable research and creation without dissemination constraints, in suitable conditions and location;
_ offer support promoting professional development focused on improving skills related
to showcasing the artistic process, as well as acquiring skills for project
fundraising.
