Cirque Du Soleil Sells Land

“Cirque du Soleil has just divested itself of a plot of land measuring approximately 200,000 square feet, strategically located along the Metropolitan Expressway (A40) in Montreal, for the hefty sum of 4.5 million dollars.”

Left abandoned, the unpaved plot of land was primarily used in recent years by Tohu, its neighbor, which utilized it as a parking lot on show nights.

“For now, the new owner allows us to use it. They are understanding, and we have a good agreement with them,” states Stéphane Lavoie, the general manager of the 900-seat venue. “But a day will probably come when we will have to turn to another location, perhaps the Cirque’s employee parking lot?”
