The creation-production residency in new artistic practices offers an organization or an artists’ collective the opportunity to continue the creation of an interdisciplinary work and to realize its production at La Chapelle Scènes contemporaines and in the studios of the Conseil des arts de Montréal. The proposed work must have already undergone a first stage of research and/or creation.
This residency also allows the selected organization or collective to benefit from artistic support services and/or technical coaching, in collaboration with the Regroupement des arts interdisciplinaires du Québec (RAIQ).
It should be noted that interdisciplinary practices integrate the knowledge, skills, and modes of thought from two or more artistic and non-artistic disciplines, and interrelate their languages and lexicons. They differ from pluridisciplinary or multidisciplinary practices by the desire not to simply juxtapose various disciplines (music, dance, theatre, visual arts, digital arts) within the same work, but to seek, through this interrelation, to create a new aesthetic, a new artistic language.
