Horizon-Soleil School in St-Eustache: A Model of Innovation and Perseverance in Integrating Circus into Education
For 40 years, Horizon-Soleil Primary School has been writing a unique chapter in the field of education by integrating circus into the core of its school curriculum. A pioneer in this approach, the school has, over the decades, transformed a simple extracurricular activity into a truly enriching and structuring educational project, fostering both motor development, creativity, and self-confidence among students.
Thanks to a dedicated and passionate teaching team, Horizon-Soleil has built a strong tradition that brings together students, teachers, parents, and alumni year after year, in a spirit of surpassing oneself and collective pride. The annual circus shows have become an institution, an event anticipated and applauded by the entire community, testifying to the establishment’s dynamism and avant-garde vision.
It is essential to highlight the remarkable work of the school’s administration, in the person of Danièle Fournier who, with perseverance and commitment, has overcome challenges to sustain this unique project. This bold and innovative vision has allowed the school to stand out not only within the Mille-Îles School Service Centre, but also across Quebec.
Today, as the school celebrates four decades of circus history, we salute the incredible commitment of all those who have helped make circus an inspiring and educational tool. Congratulations to the entire Horizon-Soleil team for this exemplary achievement which, we are certain, will continue to inspire future generations!
