Detailed Description of the Training Activity
This training will cover best practices and essential safety principles for rigging acrobatic equipment. It will address knot types, equipment, various rigging methods, weights, and measurements, among other topics. In addition to providing tools for acrobatic safety, the knowledge gained will enable participants to analyze rigging situations, assess technical needs, and understand their responsibilities in determining when to seek additional expertise.
By the end of the training, participants will be better prepared to engage in concrete projects involving aerial installations. They will be able to safely install equipment and possess the skills needed to inspect aerial equipment installed by others.

Methodology: This group training includes both theoretical and practical components. It takes place in a specialized facility where participants can explore acrobatic equipment and engage in practical exercises and simulations. Educational materials will be provided to participants. The training requires the presence of an instructor and two technicians to ensure participant safety during aerial rigging.

Frédéric Gérard (accompanied by Elia Seclet and Marcus Gauthier)
With over 30 years of professional experience, Fred Gérard is a graduate of the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne. He has worked with various companies and schools both domestically and internationally, including Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Archaos, Cirque Baroque, Cirque Pinder, Festival Circa Auch, C.R.E.A.C, Productions Dragone, Cirkus Scott, Circo Etno, École de Cirque de Québec, and École Nationale de Théâtre. He has been teaching at En Piste, the national circus arts organization, since 2005. From 2013 to 2015, he served as Technical Director of the Centre National des Arts du Cirque. Since 2019, he has been working at the Centre de Recherche, d’Innovation et de Transfert en Arts du Cirque (CRITAC) as a researcher/designer in rigging and performance environments.
