Femmes Du Feu: a Circus Troupe like No Other

Unlike St. Catharines and especially Niagara Falls, Welland is not a city spontaneously associated with the entertainment world. That is why many will be surprised to learn that a circus troupe is based there. Named Femmes du Feu, this non-profit organization, whose artists are, as the name suggests, all women, has made it its guiding principle to innovatively combine circus arts and contemporary dance.

That’s not all. As Holly Treddenick, artistic director and co-founder of the company with Lindsay Goodtimes, reminds us, performances involving fire are also at the heart of the troupe’s artistic approach.
