Training Overview
Participants will learn how to document their creative work and career, write their biography or background story, define their artistic approach, and develop the vocabulary and visuals needed to showcase it. Finally, participants will learn how to build their digital identity and explore the various platforms available to gain visibility online. The training includes 1 hour and 30 minutes of individual coaching.
The Objectives of the Training
- Develop a vocabulary and visual elements centered on the artist’s or company/collective’s artistic statement
- Write the essential components for various project submissions (biography or background, artistic approach, etc.)
- Organize and plan the documentation of works to facilitate their promotion
- Develop a toolkit to showcase a work in a presentation or grant application
- Reflect on one’s online presence and develop a strategy tailored to one’s needs (website, portfolio, social media, etc.)
- Learn the basics of Canva to create a presentation portfolio template
- Adapt documents and communications to suit the audience (funders, festivals, residency programs, presenters, the general public, etc.)
Biography

Claire Renaud is a set designer, writer, and director. Her artistic career encompasses a wide range of experiences in theater (TNM, Espace Go, Duceppe, Prospero, Espace Libre, etc.), event production, museology, and film. Alongside her career as a designer, she founded the interdisciplinary company Les précieuses fissures, where she develops her own approach as a stage writer, blending design, writing, and directing.
Claire is also involved in the arts community as an educator, project manager, and consultant. For several years, she has been working to rethink artists’ working conditions and is committed to eco-design practices. As artistic director of Les précieuses fissures, she also strives to build bridges between the community and emerging artists, while promoting the recognition of women and gender diversity in the performing arts.
Through her various roles, she regularly collaborates with industry associations (CQT, APASQ, En Piste, ACT, etc.) and happily balances her artistic practice with her work as a cultural manager.
