Led by Hugo Hamel, a technical and production director with over 18 years of experience in creation and production with various Quebec circus companies, this session takes a structured and practical approach to everything a well-designed technical specification can offer:

Biography
Hugo Hamel. As a technical and production director for over 25 years, he has dedicated himself to the design, planning, and implementation of complex stage projects, primarily in the fields of circus and the performing arts. His career has led him to collaborate with several internationally renowned companies, such as Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Éloize, Cirque Alfonse, and ComediHa!, where he has served as technical and production director for original productions, international tours, and permanent installations.
He also participated in large-scale institutional projects, including the celebrations for Montreal’s 375th anniversary (835 performances hosted in one month), and worked for over 10 years at the Palais des congrès de Montréal as technical director and chief rigger, successfully managing several hundred productions per year.
With a degree in theatre production and ETCP certification in rigging, he applies his expertise to ambitious projects, balancing artistic vision, technical feasibility, and efficient resource management.
Since 2021, he’s been living aboard his sailboat—a long-standing passion—thus combining mobility with remote professional engagement in a living environment that fosters both focus and balance
