The Arts and the City Awards aim to encourage the cultural vitality of communities and promote best practices in this area. They recognize the commitment of community stakeholders to make culture a vector for sustainable development. They contribute to the realization of cultural projects that play an active role in the continuous improvement of the quality of life for Quebec citizens.
“The unprecedented and unsettling period we are currently experiencing is more than ever an opportunity to remind ourselves of the importance of valuing cultural initiatives that impact the quality of life in our communities,” states Christian Sénéchal, Executive Director of Arts and the City. Several circus artists and companies launched cultural initiatives to brighten the lives of their local communities during 2020. Would you like your achievement to be known and recognized? You have until March 12 at noon to submit your application for the Artist in the Community Award or the Andrée-Daigle Citizen of Culture Award!
The new winning projects will be announced during the 2021 Arts and the City Network Forum, presented digitally from Trois-Rivières on June 2, 3, and 4. Video capsules of each winning project will be broadcast on the Web and social media. They will also be accessible to all participants registered for the Forum via the event portal, for its entire duration and up to one month afterward.
