Would you like to help make the circus community more representative of all its diversity?
En Piste invites artists, trainers, managers, and workers in the sector to join a pan-Canadian reflection committee on inclusion within its membership. Circus in Canada is rich in its many forms of expression and diverse paths. Yet, some voices and experiences remain underrepresented. The Inclusion Reflection Committee’s mandate will be to recommend concrete measures to strengthen equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within the organization.
Who Can Participate
We are looking for individuals active in the field (members and non-members), committed and sensitive to inclusion issues in the circus arts, and ready to contribute to a collective process of transformation—wherever they are in Canada. No experience in management or policy is required—only a sincere commitment to creating a space for listening and dialogue.
Committee Mandate
- Identify systemic barriers to the full participation of underrepresented groups.
- Identify priority actions to make the organization more welcoming and safer.
- Propose inclusive principles for the different category members.
Expected Availability
The committee will meet a few times between 2025 and 2027. Meetings will be held virtually or in a hybrid format, depending on members’ availability. Sessions will take place in both English and French.
