Last Day for Cirque Du Soleil Purchase or Refinancing Offers

09 Jun 2020

Monday marked the last day for interested parties to submit their proposals to acquire or refinance the entertainment company. Subsequently, these will be analyzed by the company’s advisors, including the National Bank, before being presented to the board of directors.

“We are confident that as soon as we are able to resume our shows, we will once again become the profitable company we were,” Cirque spokesperson Caroline Couillard stated in an email, without offering details on the offers received.

However, it was not possible on Monday to know the precise number of bidders. According to The Globe and Mail, which cited a source familiar with the matter, 29 potential buyers signed confidentiality agreements to access the Cirque’s financial data. However, fewer than 10 offers are expected.
