The only circus act in Canadian Family's Got Talent, presented by Santé D’Amours Fortunato and her husband Sasha Yudintsev, was selected as one of the top 10.

The couple met while they were both working on Cirque du Soleil's Corteo. Santé, who graduated from the National Circus School in 2011, performed in the aerial candlestick act, while Sasha, who has worked at Cirque du Soleil for 13 years, could be seen mainly in the trampo-bed act. Excerpts from the show are currently available on the CirqueConnect platform.

"We did not make the top 3 unfortunately. But it was fun being part of the top 10," says Santé. It was a great experience that gave us a small positive boost. Doing the live interview on Breakfast Television," she continues, "gave us butterflies in our stomachs again."

Sasha had seen an ad for the competition on Instagram. They didn't have a lot of indoor space in Santé's parents' house, where they live in Vancouver, to shoot the video, so they thought, "It's a beautiful day, we have to do it quickly, now, before it rains, on the patio outside!"

During the lockdown, the couple continues to train using the gym, the small dance studio and the outdoor space at the family home. Santé has started giving private online lessons to students around the world. They are also in the process of creating a 45-minute multi-disciplinary show, showcasing their respective disciplines, i.e. hula-hoop, contortion, aerial hoop and dance for Santé, and trampoline, board, Cyr wheel, juggling, diabolo and guitar for Sasha.

They don't know when or how they will perform this show, but they are excited about the project. "We've always wanted to do this, but now we have the time to do it." The idea would be to then sell the show to small presenters, cruise ships or events when cultural life begins again.
