In the wake of the denunciations of the last few weeks, several people and companies have contacted us. As a professionnal alliance, we must play a leading role in prevention and support in our community in order to promote a healthy work climate where everyone can practice their profession without fear.

It is in this context that we invited L'Aparté, a one-stop-shop led by Juripop against harrassement and violence in the cultural sector, to present the resources available to the community last Thursday. Nearly 75 people attended the webinars. Lawyers Virginie Maloney (in French) and Nadia Samy (in English) explained the different types of violence, the legal and non-legal solutions available to victims and witnesses, the risks related to denunciations on social networks, as well as the resources and services offered by L'Aparté. For those who missed it, the webinar recording is available, as well as the PowerPoint presentation, on our website.

Around thirty questions were asked, which demonstrates the complexity of the subject and the relevance of discussing it with experts in the field. We have also made some resources available to you on our website, including contact information for l'Aparté and Juripop, training courses, and other useful legislative resources and psychological support organizations.

Remember that people living in Quebec who have questions or need help can contact l'Aparté for confidential, free and independent support at any time. We will also organize confidential clinics, in partnership with Juripop, at the end of August and the beginning of September.

Together, let's make our community even more respectful of people. Let's get knowledgeable and make informed choices!
