"Aerial circus performer Angola Murdoch first encountered the world of therapeutic clowning in her early teens when she was a patient at Toronto’s SickKids hospital.

The Bognor native and Look-Up Theatre artistic director recalls receiving a visit from one of the clowns after undergoing spinal fusion surgery to correct her severe scoliosis. (...)

Murdoch is well-known locally, largely because of her work with Look-Up Theatre, a not-for-profit company that performs theatre, multi-media, circus and aerial arts.

She’s an international circus performer, teacher and producer, having created full-length circus shows including one about her experience with scoliosis. Locally, she and her troupes have performed at Summerfolk, Canada Day festivities and other events and she has led circus camps and performances at the Roxy Theatre.

She’s accomplished so much in the world of circus and aerial arts despite her childhood scoliosis diagnosis."
