Cirque du Soleil sells land
"Cirque du Soleil has just disposed of a 200,000 square-foot lot strategically located along the A40 highway in Montreal for the princely sum of $4.5 million.
Left abandoned, the unpaved land was used in recent years mainly by TOHU as a parking lot on show nights.
"For now, the new owner is letting us use it. They are understanding and we have a good understanding with them," says Stéphane Lavoie, Executive Director of the 900-seat venue. But there will probably come a day when we will have to turn to another location, perhaps the Cirque employee parking lot?"
