A third survey on the future of the circus arts
In the context of the gradual return of circus arts activities, we call for your participation in order to define the needs of the milieu to imagine our future and regain our momentum!
As the new cultural season begins, En Piste is reaching out to you with an important request.
As a professional alliance, En Piste regularly advocates for the circus sector amongst government and arts council leaders. As our community recovers from the many pandemic-induced challenges it has been facing, we have been more active on this front than ever.
Over the past two years, we conducted two national surveys that allowed us to document the impact of the pandemic on the circus arts community and to identify federal recovery measures. Our advocacy amongst government officials helped raised awareness in our partners and led to major investments in the circus arts sector. Thanks to the various measures put in place, our sector has been moving forward in the face of this pandemic-induced crisis, as demonstrated by the many new artistic works being created and the wonderful creative initiatives that have been emerging.
However, the pandemic is not yet over and many needs remain in terms of supporting the recovery of the circus arts sector. The extra public funding granted to our field is not permanent.
It is in this context that En Piste is launching a third national survey. This data collection is very important and is intended for both organizations and individuals across Canada. Compiling and centralizing this data is a critical step because it will allow us to update our understanding of the current context and to properly advocate for the needs of our community.
We are counting on you to respond before Wednesday, September 22. Your participation in this survey is extremely important and will take a few minutes of your time.
