Looking for 2 circus artists to participate in a creation and research laboratory on interactivity in the performing arts.

In collaboration with En Piste, Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Noranda and the Department of Digital Creation of the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) are launching a call for applications to offer students a week of research and creation related to digital technologies, in collaboration with professional artists.

They are looking for two professional circus artists to participate in a co-creation experience with students in their first year of the Master's program in digital creation at UQAT. The artists will be associated with a group of students in order to create together an immersive, interactive and multisensory work that combines circus arts and technological tools.


𝗟𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲́𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀

Dates: March 20-25, 2022 with a public or virtual presentation (depending on health measures in effect) on March 26 or 27, 2022.

Schedule: Approximately 50 hours is considered for the entire project, including three to four virtual preparatory meetings before the residency begins.

Location: Petit Théâtre du Vieux Noranda, 112, 7th Street, Rouyn-Noranda (Quebec) J9X 1Z9

Fee: $1000 per artist + per diems and meals.

Transportation and lodging: Provided by the Petit Théâtre


The profile we are looking for

2 circus artists exclusively in the following disciplines: ground acrobatics

(hand to hand, contortion), balancing on cane, juggling or aerial discipline (restricted height).

- Autonomous and creative

- Sharing, collaboration and co-creation

- Very open-minded

- Gatherer and motivator

- Interest in integrating interactivity and digital tools into your practice

It is important to be willing to work and collaborate closely with students. This is not an accompaniment, but a joint creation.
