Lab 7 in a few words
Lab7 is first and foremost a production prototyping studio located at the 7 Fingers Creation and Production Center, where we find motion capture technologies, a video game engine and stage integrators. And soon, virtual and augmented reality, multiplatform broadcasting, immersive scenography and interactive environments will be added to the menu.
Lab7 is also an applied research and exploration program developed in partnership with CRITAC and other institutions and research programs. We are already exploring the integration of advanced technologies with the physical realities and limitations of live performance. And soon, the transfer of knowledge and the development of technologies by suppliers and manufacturers will be on the menu.
We are looking for a Multimedia and Interactive Systems Integrator who will contribute to finding and implementing solutions to our technical challenges around themes such as unconventional motion capture, mixed reality, interactive environments and many others.
What is your day-to-day job as a Multimedia and Interactive Systems Integrator at lab 7?
You will work under the authority of the Lab 7 Management Committee, in collaboration with a project coordinator, a multimedia artist, as well as our production teams and partners.
You will work in a context of exploration and prototyping, to put technology at the service of artistic visions coming mainly from the performing arts, but not limited to it. You will need a good dose of creativity and exploration to experiment with cutting-edge technologies, push their limits and align them with our creative ambitions.
You will also be in charge of the technical coordination of our workshops.
Find innovative solutions with vendors and by experimenting, to push the technology further.
Develop and execute strategies to technically realize the creative and technological concepts.
Set up and operate motion capture, projection and other technologies as required by the workshop.
Ensure data quality and compatibility between the different systems.
Responsible for the Lab's equipment: keep abreast of new products, recommend relevant acquisitions, maintain inventory.
Conduct demonstrations and training on innovative products with vendors.
Document lab research and results for publication by the communications team on the portal.
Valuing collaboration and knowledge sharing so that Lab 7 shines through its contagious innovations!
In collaboration with our production team:
Actively contribute in the production logistics and coordination of technical deliverables.
Carry out certain technical plans.
Manage the technical infrastructure of Lab 7.
Plan, coordinate, supervise and participate in the hiring of technical personnel for all operations (set-up, dismantling, maintenance, training, demonstration, filming...) of Lab 7, both in the 7D studios and outside.
Coordinate equipment rentals and transportation.
You are familiar with the tools & technologies below and ideally have experience or knowledge of the cultural environment.
