“As the COVID-19 pandemic heavily impacts the artistic and cultural sector, Diversité artistique Montréal (DAM) is launching a study to document the situation and the repercussions of this crisis on racialized and Indigenous individuals working in this sector across Quebec, as well as on artistic organizations dedicated to one of these groups.”
“[…] DAM aims to paint a picture of the situation affecting professionals already grappling with systemic barriers in normal times, in order to guide decision-makers towards an inclusive recovery.
At a time of public recognition of systemic racism issues, it is fundamental to understand the role of equity in the mechanisms for accessing and allocating grants to so-called diversity and Indigenous artists. The sector’s recovery represents a unique opportunity to address these blind spots and avoid repeating past failures.”
If you identify as a racialized or Indigenous person and work in arts and culture in Quebec, complete the online questionnaire or conduct a video conference interview by sending an email to recherche@diversiteartistique.org. You can also share this call for participation within your networks!
