Accident Insurance

For whom:

  • the artists, trainers, riggers, technicians and stagehands
  • members in good standing of En Piste
  • holders of RAMQ (or other provincial health plan or holders of insurance that substitutes for RAMQ).

In what context: that of your professional activities (training, rehearsals, performances, touring…).

Coverage: This insurance covers total disability caused by a work-related accident.

SUMMARY OF COVERAGE

Price: $26/month (plus tax)

  • Insurance is payable in addition to membership fees. En Piste membership does not include insurance; it is an additional service.
  • You can choose the month in which coverage begins.
  • You will be insured until December 31, 2025. You cannot be insured for isolated months within the year.
  • Payment in one installment.

Exclusions: Fire scenes, cable work, aerial work, collisions, falls and stunts involving the use of: blank or live ammunition, explosives, open flames, other pyrotechnic effects, animals, motorcycles, aircraft/helicopters or any other type of moving vehicle or vessel.

I’m going on an international trip

Travel insurance
If you are travelling outside the country, you must have travel insurance. This protects you against any unforeseen events that may occur abroad, even while performing your duties.

Various protections are offered:
• Emergency medical care
• Trip cancellation/interruption
• Accidental death or dismemberment (AD&D)
• Loss or theft of luggage

Price: Expect to pay between $50 and $100 for a one-month trip and between $150 and $300 for a trip of approximately three months.
Eligibility: All members in good standing, as well as their families, are covered.

General liability insurance
As circus performers, we have a responsibility to act with care and good conduct. Failure to meet this obligation may result in liability and you will be responsible for any resulting costs. This insurance may be applicable in Canada and/or internationally.

This protection therefore covers:
• Property damage to third parties
• Bodily injury to third parties

Types of policies available: one-time or annual
Price: Variable
Eligibility: Canadian residents

This insurance protects all your property (office contents, equipment, costumes, sets, etc.) related to the performance of your duties.

Price: Varies depending on the value of your assets
Eligibility: All En Piste members are eligible. Civil liability insurance is required.

Insurance for expatriates or those returning to Canada
We also offer comprehensive and flexible protection for expatriates, including:

Group insurance for employees of organizations
Companies and organizations can rely on a group insurance plan that includes:

• Life insurance
• Short- and/or long-term disability insurance
• Health insurance
• Dental insurance

The plan also covers the insured’s immediate family, namely the spouse and minor children or children who are students (25 years and under).

Monthly price: Varies depending on the coverage provided in the contract.
