Summer Camp Memories: but where is the Big Top?

“Samara Healey has been attending Camp Geronimo in Lachute since she was 7 years old. When she learned that summer camps would be closed for the summer, she admitted to being ‘super sad.’ ‘It’s the coolest thing about my summer,’ she tells us. ‘It’s a ritual; I prepare for it every year, I look forward to seeing my friends, and now, I admit, it’s really a bummer…’

At this circus-specialized camp, she learned wire walking, juggling, unicycling, but also aerial disciplines: hoop, trapeze, silks…

“I really tried everything,” says the 15-year-old, who just finished her third year of high school at Académie Lafontaine in Saint-Jérôme — where she now gives circus workshops to 7-8 year olds.
