Yesterday, at the opening of our annual general meeting, we had the honor of welcoming Quebec’s Minister of Culture and Communications, Nathalie Roy, who graciously offered her greetings and praise to our community. Marie-Claude Bouillon, Chair of our Board of Directors, and Christine Bouchard, our Executive Director, both expressed to her, on behalf of the entire circus community, their gratitude for her attentiveness and for responding to the sector’s call and its pressing needs.
Anne-Marie Jean, President and CEO, and Véronique Fontaine, Director of Support for Creation and Production Organizations, from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, were also present to discuss their new accelerated programs for artists and artistic organizations, for which an allocation of 10 million dollars is dedicated to the circus arts sector.
We are very grateful for the time they granted us! We would also like to thank the 151 individuals who participated in this meeting and the 120 who remained connected to attend our virtual AGM, chaired by Stéphane Lavoie, during which Marie-Claude Bouillon and Christine Bouchard presented the 2019 review and the outlook for 2020. The proposal to renew the mandates of the outgoing directors was also unanimously adopted.
For those who could not be with us, the 2019 activity report will soon be available on our website.
