In addition, they must have one of the following employment statuses: Self-employed individual or Support for Self-Employment Measure, employee of a non-profit organization or a company whose payroll does not exceed $2,000,000, recipient of Employment Insurance or Social Assistance, recipient of an employment integration measure, or unemployed.

 Description 

Back by popular demand, this workshop designed for circus artists goes over different funding programs and breaks down the process involved in preparing a grant application. Activities will explore key grant writing elements including grant-writing, presenting a budget, articulating an artistic approach and preparing support documents. Finally, the specifics of different programs from various government organizations will be discussed.

This workshop is developped for circus artists.

Josée Fafard has held several positions that have allowed her to understand the ropes of the artistic world and its related professions. Recognized throughout Quebec (Conseils de la culture régionaux, En Piste, Regroupement québécois de la danse, Emploi Québec, etc.), she has, over the past fifteen years, developed a solid expertise in accompanying artists, particularly in providing assistance developping grant applications and artistic statements. She holds a master's degree in Fine Arts from Concordia University, and has been a recipient of several grants, as well as a jury member and promoter of cultural projects.

 Workshop outline 

Overview of available grants, eligibility requirements, artistic approach. Writing a project and practical exercises. Drawing up a budget, setting up a schedule and understanding the supporting documents.
Discovery of tools, concrete examples and exercises including participants' projects, tips and tricks for presenting a well articulated project.


After the training, each participant will have a 2-hour individual follow-up with Josée Fafard.
