For : circus artists wishing to familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of cultural mediation and include a mediation component in their circus practice.
This training course is intended as an introduction to cultural mediation, as well as a forum for exchange and a think tank on the forms that mediation can take in a circus context.
Objectives :
_become familiar with the concepts, notions and trends of cultural mediation;
_understand the issues specific to cultural mediation in the circus environment;
_reflect on the aspects and stages of a cultural mediation project;
_putting what you've learned into practice.
Lessons will be applied according to individual practice and the potential of individual or collective cultural mediation initiatives.
A professional in the field will be invited to share his or her experience and answer participants' questions.
The training will oscillate between several learning modes: interactive lectures, discussions, practical exercises, presentation of audio-visual material, etc.
Specialized in cultural education and project management, Gabrielle Gosselin-Turcotte has been working in the arts and culture sector for over 10 years. With a background in art studies, visual arts and pedagogy, she combines theory and practice. She has just completed a term as cultural mediator at La TOHU.
