En Piste, the national circus arts association<\/strong><\/span> offers you a vibrant autumn circus panorama in Quebec and Canada. Around fifty companies present their shows across the territory, from September to December. <\/p>\n

Summer concludes with abundance in Quebec<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

September will be abundant with productions and events for all tastes. Until the 8th, the Festival des arts de ruelle<\/g> invites you to its parades and free programming in several Montreal boroughs. In the east of the Island, the spectacular <\/a>\u00c9cH2Osyst\u00e8me<\/a> by Genevi\u00e8ve Dup\u00e9r\u00e9 premieres at Pointe-aux-Trembles East Beach, specifically on September 7.<\/p>\n

For its first edition in Montreal, from September 6 to 8, the Festival Dr\u00f4le d’oiseau<\/a> features Quebec companies: the Evelyne et St\u00e9phane collective, Marguerite \u00e0 bicyclette, People Watching, and the Melkior quartet, stemming from Projet Sanctuaire. During the festive Saturday evening at Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Desjardins in the LaSalle borough, the Murmure<\/g> cabaret, hosted by Gypsy Snider, will be followed by Nid d’oiseau<\/g> in “Soir\u00e9es de la Confiture” mode by la Croustade. In addition to the six contemporary circus creations on the program, Dr\u00f4le d’oiseau also offers an exhibition and free performances at Parc des Rapides de LaSalle.<\/p>\n

In Gatineau, until September 22, Cirque du Soleil will present its ECHO<\/em><\/a>.<\/em> On September 10, Gatineau residents will have the opportunity to enjoy SLAM!<\/em><\/a>, co-produced by FLIP Fabrique and Ex-Machina, which will be in Drummondville<\/a> and in Baie-Comeau<\/a> in December. On September 14, FLIP Fabrique’s Vacances<\/em><\/a> opens in Mont-Laurier, and the Tourn\u00e9e des 400 coups<\/a> runs until October 1st<\/sup> in the promenades, parks, markets, and main arteries of several Quebec municipalities such as Rimouski, Sainte-Anne de Bellevue, or Lac M\u00e9gantic, among others. Sarah Louis-Jean will present her Tempoflo <\/em>on September 18 in Trois-Rivi\u00e8res<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the metropolis, Cirque \u00c9loize<\/a> continues its Bon Voyage<\/em> until September 15. Les soeurs kif-kif<\/a> and their C\u00f4t\u00e9 confiture<\/em> will perform on September 13 in the Quartier des spectacles, where on September 22, for the opening of Place des Arts, we will also see <\/a>Cirk’Alors!<\/em> by compagnie In Toto<\/a>, which will later be in Varennes on November 17. <\/p>\n

Street arts will take over old Mascouche during the Chap\u00f4 festival<\/a>, from September 13 to 15, featuring several circus artists including Bekka Rose, Becky Hoops, and Sarah Louis-Jean. Not to mention Throw2Catch’s entertaining Geek Quest<\/em> and an original attraction, the <\/a>Camion d’intervention artistique (CIA)<\/a>, a gleaming fire truck that will “ignite smiles to extinguish gloom” and will then travel to Brossard on September 28. On the same day, Machine de Cirque’s Ghost Light<\/em> is not to be missed in Terrebonne<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In bulk at Montreal’s Maisons de la culture<\/a> until December: Battements de cirque’s Duo Loco-Motion<\/em>, N.Ormes<\/em> by the Agathe et Adrien duo, Collectif 4237’s Lab0<\/em>, as well as Hisse et Ho<\/em> and F\u00e9lie<\/em> by Le Gros Orteil. Always very active, the company Le Gros Orteil<\/a> will present Les voisines<\/em> and several shows in Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick from September to December. <\/p>\n

Clown, Family, Equestrian, Contemporary, Musical, and Cinematic October<\/strong><\/div>\n
Les Foutoukours<\/a> begin their autumn on the North Shore, in late September, with school or family shows, and continue throughout Quebec until December. They will perform Glob<\/em>, Oppidum<\/em>, or the new NoVa<\/em> in several regions including Lanaudi\u00e8re, Estrie, and the Laurentians. Also for families, Les S\u0153urs kif-kif<\/em>‘s D\u00e9partement des retours<\/a> will be in the Magdalen Islands in late October, at La Basoche in Gatineau in late November, and in early December in Mont-Laurier. <\/a>Laurette & Arlette’s comico-musical Le P\u00e9riple<\/em> will take them to Chambly<\/a> on October 6.<\/p>\n

In the Appalachians, Luna Caballera’s equestrian Cabaret magique<\/em><\/a> will take place on October 12 and 13 in Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire. The company Girovago<\/g> tours and twirls with its joyful Barka <\/g>in several cities in October and December: Montreal, Valleyfield, Sherbrooke, Rivi\u00e8re-du-Loup, and L’Assomption. Members of the company Acting for Climate Montr\u00e9al \/ Mouvement climat MTL, Agathe et Adrien<\/g> will tour their duo N.Ormes<\/g> in Montreal, Abitibi, Montmagny, and Longueuil. In Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie, new magic will make an appearance in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu with Les Illusionnistes<\/a><\/em>, on October 27. <\/div>\n

The 7 Doigts’ Pub Royal<\/em><\/a> will visit the Cultural Centre of the University of Sherbrooke on October 4 and 5, returning to Montreal from December 4 to 22. Another show by the iconic company, Duel Reality, au jeu comme en amour<\/em><\/a>, will celebrate TOHU’s 20th anniversary from October 16 to November 17 and will immediately thereafter open at Le Diamant<\/a>, from November 21 to 23. Keep an eye out on October 18 and 19 for a nature show in the For\u00eat \u00d4 Cascades of Rawdon, directed by Le Doigt Patrick L\u00e9onard. <\/p>\n

Street artists, Toxique Trottoir, Imagicario, La Dame de feu, Monsieur Gazon, and many others tread the pavement with their street arts. As for La marche du crabe<\/a>, Victor<\/em> will spend September in the Montreal region, and Amarelinha<\/em> will conclude the month in Newfoundland and return to Montreal in October.<\/p>\n

Let us conclude this month of October on the 24th, at Cin\u00e9ma Beaubien in Montreal for the premiere of Marc-Andr\u00e9 Lefebvre’s documentary on Productions Carmagnole<\/a>: Quand la folie est ma\u00eetre, l’impossible se passe.<\/em> <\/div>\n

November: Cabaret, Arena, or Hall<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The anticipated return of the Cabarets du Monast\u00e8re<\/a>, at Centre St. Jax in Montreal with high-end artists, is scheduled from November 7 to 15. An exceptional show, Murmuration<\/em> by Patin Libre<\/a>, will glide into an arena near you in Salaberry de Valleyfield on November 9, in Saint-Michel on November 10, and in Rosemont on November 16. <\/p>\n

Machine de Cirque’s Ghost Light<\/em> continues its tour in Salaberry de Valleyfield<\/a> on November 2, in Sherbrooke<\/a> on November 26, and on December 7 in Laval<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For the whole family, L’Aubergine will perform L\u00e0-bas <\/em>in Gatineau<\/a>, from November 13 to 15, and in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield<\/a> on November 17. The recent creation Kintsugi<\/em><\/a> by Machine de Cirque will be presented on the evening of November 15 at Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Maisonneuve in Montreal. With its Chinese shadows and acrobatics, Andr\u00e9 Giroux’s L’Hermite <\/a><\/em> will be in Granby on November 16 and, from November 18 to 27, at the Maison de la culture de Pointe aux Trembles before heading to the Maritimes and Ontario. <\/div>\n

December and the Holiday Season<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/a>FLIP Fabrique inaugurates December with <\/a>SLAM!<\/em> presented in Drummondville<\/a> and a few days later in <\/a>Rimouski<\/a>, then in Baie-Comeau<\/a>. Also premiering, L’Aubergine’s Circus Opus<\/g> in Sainte-Genevi\u00e8ve<\/g> and subsequently in Sorel-Tracy<\/g>. A clown and acrobatic visit in Quebec City<\/a>, from December 3 to 22, Jamie Adkins will perform his Circus Incognitus<\/em> on the stage of Les Gros Becs.<\/p>\n

During the holiday season, at Maison Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Montr\u00e9al, Quebec City’s L’Aubergine<\/a> presents its recent creation L\u00e0-bas<\/em>, from December 11, 2024, to January 5, 2025. From December 18 to January 5, a visit from the Belgians of Okidok and their classic Ha! Ha! Ha! <\/em><\/a> ; this clown show, already successfully presented in 2006 at TOHU, returns perfectly polished.<\/p>\n

In the national capital, at Le Diamant, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre \u00e0 Tempo will mark the holidays with a world premiere: Action!<\/em><\/a> from December 19 to 29. Also in Quebec City, Cirque du Soleil’s Crystal<\/em><\/a> will be at Centre Vid\u00e9otron from December 26 to 29, and OVO<\/em><\/a> will play at Montreal’s Bell Centre from December 27 to January 5. <\/div>\n

Autumn Panorama from Coast to Coast<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
For its 7th<\/sup> edition, the St. John’s International Circus Fest <\/a> welcomes prestigious artists! The program for the St. John’s International Circus Festival includes: workshops and showcases, the European clown duo Elastic and Francesca, Cie Bolbol, Vertical Air from Ontario, a local talent cabaret, and Machine de Cirque’s La Galerie<\/g><\/g>. This latter show will be in Ontario in Grand-Falls-Windsor and Stephenville in late September.<\/p>\n

Cirque du Soleil will be in Vancouver with ECHO<\/em><\/a> from October 9 to December 15, and with OVO<\/em><\/a> in St. Catharines, Ontario, from December 21 to 23. ‘Twas the Night Before<\/g><\/g> will celebrate Christmas in Toronto, from December 12 to January 3.<\/p>\n

US-based circuses are touring their productions in Canada. In September, Cirque Italia<\/a> will visit Alberta with Water Circus<\/em> in Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Red Deer. With Paranormal<\/g>, it will be in Ontario in Cambridge, Mississauga, and Thornhill. Touring throughout October, The Vampire Circus<\/g> will pass through Moncton, Kitchener, Montreal, Pickering, Thunder Bay, Saskatoon, Calgary, Cranbrook, and Vancouver. American Crown Circus<\/g> will stay in September in Abbotsford, Surrey, Tsawwassen, Nanaimo, Victoria, Richmond, and Coquitlam in British Columbia.<\/p>\n

In the West, in late September, in Vernon, British Columbia, Les soeurs kif-kif<\/g> will move their Returns Department<\/g> to North Battleford, Saskatchewan, in October. They will then go to Airdrie, Camrose Fort Saskatchewan, and Spruce Grove in Alberta. Until the end of the month, the L\u00e9pine twins will be in the Magdalen Islands, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Andy Giroux’s L’Hermite<\/em><\/a> will visit about fifteen cities in New Brunswick in October, including Richibouctou, Grand Sault, or N\u00e9guac; an additional half-dozen performances will take place in Ontario in November, in Iroquois Falls, Val Th\u00e9r\u00e8se, or North Bay, among others.<\/div>\n
