Our warmest congratulations to trapeze artist, choreographer, co-founder, and co-artistic director of 7 Fingers<\/a><\/span>,<\/span> Shana Carroll<\/strong>, named Companion of Arts and Letters of Quebec, alongside twelve other recipients: Paule Baillargeon, Lucie Boissinot, Shana Carroll, Ren\u00e9 Richard Cyr, Louis Dallaire, Mich\u00e8le Lapointe, Ranee Lee, Jacques Matte, Caroline Monnet, Guy Parent, Jocelyn Robert, Richard S\u00e9guin, and Larry Tremblay.<\/p>\n

Shana Carroll has left a substantial mark on the vast circus world. A unifier of multidisciplinary talents, an avant-garde creator whose achievements enrich our collective imagination, this American by birth and Quebecer by adoption has fostered the emergence, growth, and recognition of a new generation of circus artists who shine on stage and under the big top around the world. <\/p>\n

This prestigious distinction awarded by the CALQ pays tribute to cultural figures for their remarkable contribution to the development and reputation of excellence of Quebec arts and letters, both locally and internationally. Whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes, they have shaped Quebec culture, enhanced our imagination, and inspired pride. <\/p>\n

The CALQ will award them the prestigious distinction of the Order of Arts and Letters of Quebec during an insignia presentation ceremony on May 29, at Espace Orange in the Wilder Building, in Montreal.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuebec’s cultural scene is rich, stimulating, and diverse. It shines around the world thanks to the invaluable contribution of passionate artists and professionals, whose achievements enrich our lives daily. These individuals, each in their own way, forge Quebec culture, and their contribution must be highlighted. On behalf of the Council, I congratulate the 13 recipients whom I eagerly look forward to welcoming into the great family of the Order of Arts and Letters of Quebec.\u201d
