Implementation of the vaccine passport starting September 1st<\/sup> in non-essential services and major events such as festivals, performance halls, and training facilities.<\/p>\n

Minister of Education Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Roberge and Minister of Health Christian Dub\u00e9 provide an update on the pandemic situation and urge caution before the start of the school year and in light of the increase in DELTA variant cases.<\/p>\n

Starting September 1st<\/strong>, the vaccine passport<\/a> will be required for individuals aged 13 and over in non-essential services<\/strong>: outdoor events and festivals with more than 50 spectators, performance halls, and any other type of venue or location where performing arts are presented.<\/p>\n

Two mobile applications will be offered<\/strong>: VaxiCode, intended for citizens,<\/strong> to download your proof of vaccination (QR code) and VaxiCode Verif<\/strong> to allow operators to scan the QR codes that will appear on the proof of vaccination, to determine an individual’s COVID-19 protection status. This status will be displayed in green or red, with certification from the Government of Quebec, determining whether the person can access the venue or not. An ID photo will also be required when presenting the vaccine passport. <\/p>\n

The applications will be available starting tomorrow (on Apple and later on Google).<\/span><\/p>\n

In the educational environment:
– Masks will be mandatory at all times for primary and secondary students in classrooms in 9 regions of Quebec: Centre-du-Qu\u00e9bec, Estrie, Lanaudi\u00e8re, Laurentides, Laval<\/span>, Mauricie, Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie, Montreal, and Outaouais
– In primary school, extracurricular activities will resume at the start of the school year
– No class bubbles or alternating attendance
– For secondary students, the vaccine passport will be required for indoor activities and outdoor physical activities such as team sports.<\/p>\n
