The National Network of Legal Clinics for the Arts<\/a> is a group composed of members from existing Canadian pro-bono legal clinics. As part of Phase 1 of their project, they conducted a needs assessment, surveying 1,150 Canadian artists, arts organizations, and legal experts working in the sector. They found that 94% of artists feel they face unique legal needs and lack information and training on legal matters. <\/p>\n

For Phase 2, the group plans to progressively establish centers across Canada through our legal networks to address the gaps identified during their needs assessment and better assist creators in Canada. Once funding is secured, this phase will take place in early 2021. They aim to connect legal services and artist organizations nationwide so that artists can benefit from improved access and understanding to exercise their legal rights. <\/p>\n
