{"id":4715,"date":"2020-06-09T13:26:13","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T13:26:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/enpistedev.wpenginepowered.com\/a-historic-moment-10-million-for-circus-arts\/"},"modified":"2020-06-09T13:26:13","modified_gmt":"2020-06-09T13:26:13","slug":"a-historic-moment-10-million-for-circus-arts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/enpiste.qc.ca\/en\/a-historic-moment-10-million-for-circus-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"A Historic Moment: 10 Million for Circus Arts!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Given the major challenges faced by the circus arts sector, particularly due to the collapse of its business model based on the export of performances, <strong>a sum of 10 million dollars has been granted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calq.gouv.qc.ca\/This assistance is made possible thanks to funding from the Conseil des arts et lettres du Qu\u00e9bec (CALQ).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec (CALQ)<\/a> by the Government of Quebec<\/strong> to support our community during this unprecedented global crisis. This gesture also marks a historic moment, as it is <strong>the first time that the distinct issues of our art have been recognized and that a financial envelope has been dedicated to it. <\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>After several months of efforts and representations, En Piste, the national association for circus arts, welcomes the announcement that will mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. <strong>The association will work in close collaboration with CALQ to identify support measures for the sector.<\/strong> Details regarding the distribution of funds and the terms of programs specific to circus arts will be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Artists and companies can now take advantage of other aid measures, such as SODEC&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/sodec.gouv.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/programme-soutien-temporaire-fonds-roulement-covid-19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Temporary Working Capital Support \u2013 COVID-19<\/em><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/mma.prnewswire.com\/media\/1175407\/Cabinet_de_la_ministre_de_la_Culture_et_des_Communications_Pand_.pdf?p=original\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">financial aid for 110 artistic training schools<\/a>, the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcc.gouv.qc.ca\/index.php?id=6358\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Digital Ambition<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcc.gouv.qc.ca\/index.php?id=6359\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Digital Outreach<\/em><\/a> programs from the Ministry of Culture and Communications (MCCQ), and CALQ&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.calq.gouv.qc.ca\/aide-financiere\/coronavirus\/info\/plan-de-relance-mesures\/?utm_source=Openfield&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=9%20juin%20-%20Infolettre%20%c3%80%20l%27Oeuvre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three new programs<\/a> for artists and artistic organizations. We are confident that all the measures made available to the circus arts sector will enable it to overcome the crisis <strong> <\/strong>and to envision new works to meet audiences across our territory. To learn about all available aid programs, consult <a href=\"https:\/\/enpiste.qc.ca\/fr\/covid19-ressources-financieres\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">our financial resources page<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Finally, we invite the circus arts sector to <strong>a meeting with Ms. Anne-Marie-Jean, President and CEO, and Ms. V\u00e9ronique Fontaine, Director of Support for Creation and Production Organizations, of CALQ, <u>on Thursday, June 18, at 4 PM<\/u>,<\/strong> to discuss the funding allocated to circus arts.
