En Piste, represented by our Executive Director, <strong>Nadia Drouin<\/strong>\u2014who sat on the Working Table and was present for the presentation\u2014welcomes this essential process, which highlights the priority issues and solutions identified across the sector, including circus arts. <\/p>\n\n<p><br\/>The <strong>Report on Findings and Recommendations of the Working Table on the Performing Arts<\/strong> compiles months of analyses, regional consultations, and collective reflection. It confirms the need for structural actions to ensure the long-term sustainability of our artistic practices. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br\/>Key Findings<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strengthen ties between culture and education<\/strong> to ensure meaningful access to artistic experiences from an early age.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Significant increases in production and touring costs<\/strong>, which weaken organizations, especially smaller and more specialized ones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Persistent precarity for artists<\/strong> and the absence of an adequate social safety net.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Public funding mechanisms that are complex and sometimes inconsistent<\/strong>, and not always aligned with the actual trajectory of works and artists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Insufficient private and philanthropic funding resources<\/strong>, particularly for small and mid-sized organizations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Major territorial disparities<\/strong>, limiting public access to the performing arts across the province.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Need for stronger data and tools<\/strong> to support planning, touring, and audience understanding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><br\/>These findings strongly resonate within the circus sector, where mobility, risk management, specialized infrastructure, and ongoing training represent key structural challenges.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br\/>Proposed Directions for Action<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Increase the presence of performing arts in schools<\/strong> and better support links between artists, presenters, and educational environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve the coherence of public funding<\/strong> by simplifying programs and ensuring continuous support from creation to touring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Develop a private-sector and philanthropic funding strategy<\/strong>, including shared services accessible to smaller organizations and independent artists.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve access to data and support digital literacy<\/strong> to better plan touring and document real production costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strengthen cultural offerings across Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong> by improving the circulation of works, recognizing the role of multidisciplinary presenters, and ensuring territorial equity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br\/>What\u2019s Next?<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Minister also announced two major initiatives that will directly impact our sector:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A reflection on the growing number of festivals in a context of stagnant resources;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A deeper effort to better structure philanthropic and private-sector funding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><br\/>For En Piste, these developments come at a pivotal moment.
