En Piste, an essential ally in the sustainable development of circus arts, promotes a distinctive cultural identity on a global scale in partnership with government policies.

Our mission

En Piste mobilizes the national circus community to create conditions conducive to innovation, creativity and diversity, in a quest for excellence.

The mission is carried out through six mandates: community involvement, consultation, representation, promotion of circus arts, support for creativity and professional development, and resource mobilization.

Our values

Mutual aid

Mutual aid represents a core value based on selfless sharing, knowledge exchange, and mutual support among members. It is a culture of collaborative solidarity where everyone is committed to strengthening one another. This dynamic of reciprocal assistance creates a community of sharing that fosters mutual support, mentorship, and collective development for the well-being of all members.

Respect &
inclusion

En Piste demonstrates respect for each individual by recognizing their uniqueness, appreciating their contribution, respecting the right to be different, and preserving the freedom of each and every person.

Solidarity

Solidarity within En Piste is based on strengthening individual and collective responsibility. This value is embodied in active cooperation between board members, staff, and members for the development and recognition of circus arts. It embodies a commitment to acting in the common interest and through collaboration, thereby fostering the consolidation of the artistic community and the ongoing promotion of circus arts.

Conviviality

In a professional context, conviviality at En Piste translates into a work environment where team members interact in a friendly, respectful, and warm manner. This fosters a sense of camaraderie and well-being within the organization, which is reflected in its relationships with its members, partners, and the wider sector.

Our General Regulations

En Piste’s general regulations govern its democratic and transparent operation. They define, in particular, the composition of its bodies, the categories of members, their rights and responsibilities, as well as the rules of governance, finance, and decision-making. Revised and adopted at the general assembly on April 9, 2024, they guide the association’s activities and support our mission to develop and promote circus arts.

Adhésion​

Five categories of members (individuals, corporations, training organizations, associates, honorary members) with rights and conditions adapted to each.

Democratic life

An annual general meeting, open to all members, which constitutes the supreme decision-making body.

Governance

A board of directors representative of the diversity of the circus community, elected by the members.

Rights and Responsibilities

Members actively participate in the association’s activities, with voting and speaking rights according to their category.

Financial transparency

Membership fees, budgets and financial statements are adopted and verified annually.

Integrity and fairness

Clear rules regarding conflicts of interest, suspension or expulsion, to ensure a fair and consistent environment

Our Policies

En Piste is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and eco-responsible environment, based on clear policies that promote fairness, transparency and respect for the entire circus community.

Anti-Harassment Policy

En Piste reaffirms its commitment to preventing and putting an end to all forms of psychological, sexual, or discriminatory harassment, both within the organization and in the course of its activities.


This policy also defines the intervention principles applied when a complaint is filed or a situation is reported to En Piste or one of its representatives.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

En Piste places the utmost importance on diversity, equity, and inclusion. These values ​​guide our actions and initiatives to contribute to an ever more welcoming and respectful circus environment for everyone.

En Piste places eco-responsibility at the heart of its actions, convinced that the future of the circus depends on environmentally friendly practices. We raise awareness and equip the community, share concrete resources, and encourage sustainable transition through training, collective initiatives, and partnerships.

Membership policy

Since 1997, En Piste has welcomed members from the circus arts sector based on clear eligibility and professional recognition criteria. The policy specifies the conditions, categories, and benefits of membership, while promoting fairness, transparency, and inclusivity. Memberships are evaluated according to established criteria recognized by peers.
