En Piste commissioned ARTENSO – Research and Innovation Center in Art and Social Engagement, a college-level transfer center for innovative social practices (CCT-PSN) affiliated with Cégep de Saint-Laurent, to design a series of cultural mediation tools in circus arts for professionals in the sector.
This initiative is part of the Destination cirque program to support the circulation of circus arts, supported by the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and established in April 2021. One of its components is the creation of resources that will enable the development of good practices in the field, both for presenters and circus companies.
En Piste would particularly like to thank the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for its financial support, which made the production of these publications possible.

GLOSSARY OF CIRCUS ARTS

EVALUATION GUIDE
What is evaluation in cultural mediation and why evaluate?
Evaluation is a framework for supporting activities and individuals throughout the cultural mediation project. Evaluation should be seen as “a process of learning and exchange that concerns first and foremost the participants and artists, and, more broadly, the responsible organizations” (Jacob and Bélanger, 2014). It is important to integrate it from the beginning of the dialogue with partners when determining the objectives and desired results.

PROJECT CATALOGUE
The catalog presents projects that have been implemented by organizations in Quebec and internationally. They serve as concrete examples and represent different possibilities for circus mediation.
