Call for applications: new CALQ Prize for the best circus work

The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) and En Piste invite circus artists, collectives, and organizations to apply for this Artistic Excellence Award. Accompanied by a $10,000 prize, this award highlights the artistic excellence of a circus work presented in Quebec for the first time during the previous artistic season. The award ceremony will take place in summer 2025 as part of Montréal Complètement Cirque.

Objectives

• Highlight the excellence of circus arts creation in Quebec.
• Encourage and support the creation of circus performances in Quebec.
• Contribute to the promotion of Quebec circus arts organizations and artists.

Eligibility

• Who can apply: Artists, collectives, and organizations working in circus arts and residing in Quebec.
• Eligible works: A circus work presented for the first time in Quebec between January 1 and December 31, 2024.

Application Details

• Deadline: March 10, 2025.
• Applications must be submitted to CALQ.
• Applications are evaluated by a committee of circus arts experts.
• Incomplete applications or those submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Conditions and Award Ceremony

• The prize is indivisible and awarded to a single work.
• The next award will be presented as part of Montréal Complètement Cirque in summer 2025.
